Ouch. I know.
I’ve been there .
I was born to refugee immigrant parents from Vietnam.
English was my third language (my first was Ticheow,
a rare Chinese dialect, and then Vietnamese).
I was shy. I was nerdy. I struggled immensely in school to make friends.
I didn’t have the gift of the gab. I was gab-less. (And
girlfriend-less thanks to my pimples, braces and Level 0 Charisma.)
In my early career, I was passed over for promotions and job opportunities left and right.
I really wanted to work in electronic stores when I was younger, but I NEVER got through the interview process.
I ended up stacking shelves in a grocery store, and deep-frying food in a takeaway store.

What I discovered is that…
You’re only as good as your communication.
Because if you’re not effectively communicating how epically talented and amazing you are,
how else is the world supposed to know?
I used to feel that it was the responsibility of others to see how great I am.
I was waiting for someone to come along and notice me, and I spent a lot of time waiting.
Then I realized that I needed to take control of my own life. If I wanted others to see me and my gifts
– I needed to learn how to shine my light
